Funeral for Walter Krit Proctor will be on Monday, October 10, 2022 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am. Visitation will be Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 1:00pm-6:00pm at the family home at 3208 Cypress Point Circle Claremore, OK 74017.
Krit was born on June 14th, 1935 in Proctor, Oklahoma to Walter and Ada (Brown) Proctor. Krit attended school in Proctor from 1st to 8th grade and finished his education at Westville High-school graduating with the class of 1953. Krit started working for Reda Pump in Bartlesville before leaving the company to play baseball for the Milwaukee Braves Farm Team in Donaldsonville, GA in the late 50's. Krit was drafted into the Army in 1958 and was stationed in Germany before being honorably discharged in 1960. Krit returned home and was activated to the Texas National Guard and was made an honorary Texan, an honor that made him very proud. Krit had many qualifications through the years and took classes while working full-time and became a highly sought after expert in his field. So much so, he used his expertise in distant locations such as Russia, China, Brazil, Scotland as well as throughout the US and Canada. Krit enjoyed many hobbies over the years, but his favorites were hunting, fishing, and golfing. He learned how to fish as a young boy with his father in Adair County using a cane pole. He won many fishing tournaments throughout Oklahoma with his fishing partner Ron Corley.
Krit was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Mary Joyce Kindle, Jimmie Ruth Glass, Billie Sue Richards and one son, William Ezekiel "Zeke" Huff.
Krit is survived by his wife, Risȅ; son, Billy Joe Proctor and wife Quinn Satepauhoodle Proctor, grandsons Sonny and Acee all of Claremore; granddaughter Brie Proctor, great-grandson Aiden Proctor and great-granddaughter Nova Proctor of El Reno. Son Krit David Proctor of Tulsa; granddaughters Charity Proctor and Felicity Proctor and grandson Dakota Huff of Collinsville, and one sister, JoAnn McGrew of Claremore.
