Ward Beardsley Hopper Jr.

December 18, 1932 — November 11, 2013

Funeral service for Ward Beardsley Hopper, Jr. will be 10 a.m., Thurs., Nov. 14, at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Conaway officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-5 p.m.

Ward passed away Mon., Nov. 11, 2013, at Hillcrest Hospital Claremore at the age of 80.

The son of Ward Beardsley Hopper, Sr. and Frances Louise (Beardsley) Hopper was born Dec. 18, 1932, in Sioux City, IA. He grew up and attended school in Sioux City. Ward moved to Claremore where he met the love of his life, Thelma Evelyn Wilson. They met at the local skating rink and were married on June 15, 1953 in Bentonville, AR. That same year Ward entered the U.S. Army and served until 1957. They lived in Germany until Ward was discharged and they made their home in Claremore. Ward worked at Braden Steel in Tulsa for many years, and later worked at Warehouse Market for 27 years. He was a member of Central Christian Church. Ward enjoyed fishing, and was an animal lover. He and Thelma took care of their own ponies for many years.

Ward is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles Hopper.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma of the home.
