Warren Paul Thompson, age 93, of Chelsea, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025. He was born to Lonnie and Vaudry Inez Thompson on September 16, 1931, in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Warren grew up in Alluwe, where he attended school and laid the foundation for a life marked by hard work, faith, and love.
In 1950, Warren met the love of his life, Opal Nadine Taber, at church. The two quickly became inseparable, marrying on January 3, 1950, and enjoying 75 wonderful years together. Warren dedicated over 47 years of his life to dairy farming, becoming known for his tireless work ethic. When not milking cows, he could often be found bailing hay or cutting silage, always staying busy and ensuring his farm ran smoothly.
A man of deep faith, Warren was an active and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Chelsea. He taught Sunday School, served as a Deacon, and took great joy in working with the youth programs, helping to guide and nurture young hearts in their faith.
Family was incredibly important to Warren, and he always made time to create lasting memories. He and Opal traveled extensively across the U.S., often enjoying summer vacations and many vacations to the mountains, a place they both loved.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Vaudry Inez Thompson; and his siblings, Wayne Thompson, Lyle Thompson, Louise Curtis, and Lois Ann Skelton.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Opal, and their daughters Linda Pinkston and husband John, Patsy Brent and husband Gene; sister Lucille Webb along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many other nieces nephews and extended family members who will miss Warren dearly.
