Wayne Rickman

Funeral services for Wayne Rickman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Inola Funeral Home, with burial following at Highland Cemetery.

Herbert Wayne Rickman passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the age of 85.

Wayne was born on October 6, 1939, in Paron, Arkansas, to Herbert E. and Alice (Holland) Rickman. As a young boy, his family moved to Benton, Arkansas, where he attended Benton High School and graduated with the class of 1957. It was in Benton that he met Tommie Price, his high school sweetheart, and they married on August 30, 1958.

After their marriage, the couple remained in Benton, where Wayne worked for the Wheatley Company. When the company went on strike, Wayne’s strong work ethic led the plant directors to offer him a job in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which he accepted. The family relocated, and in 1976, Wayne took a position with Ford Glass, where he worked until his retirement in 2004.

In his free time, Wayne enjoyed taking trips on his Harley motorcycle, Branson, Missouri being one of his favorite destinations. He also enjoyed working on a pit crew for dirt track race cars. However, spending time with his grandchildren brought him the most joy.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Alice Rickman; his sons, Tony and Jeff Rickman; his great-grandson, Eric Muskrat III; his brother, Dan Rickman; and his sister, Laura Rickman.

He is survived by his wife, Tommie; his daughter, Cheryl Rickman; his grandchildren, Shane and Ashley Long, Tommie and Eric Muskrat, Ryan Long, Raevyn and Jason Hill, Shelby Rickman, and Chance and Emily Rickman; 10 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, David, Oscar, and Cynthia Rickman.
