Weldon Foster

January 23, 1927 — May 11, 2021

Weldon was born to parents Lem B. and Rilla Stroud Foster in Axtell, Texas near Waco. He left this world on May 11, 2021.  Raised in Axtell where he was saved and called to preach in a dry creek bottom on a Sunday afternoon at age 15.  Graduated High School in 1944 and joined the US Navy in January 1945 attending Boot Camp in San Diego California. He served 13 months at sea on the USS Langley CVL 27, aircraft carrier in the pacific after the war. Decommissioned the USS Langley at Philadelphia Navy yard and was discharged on July 8th, 1946.  Weldon met Grace Schweizerhof at a skating rink in Philadelphia and married July 29, 1946 at Axtell.  He attended Baylor University 1 year, then was called to pastor at Ricardo Baptist Church in Kingsville Texas 1947-1956.  Graduated the University of Corpus Christy in 1956 and graduated Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, in July 1960. He pastored Aquilla Baptist Church while in seminary.  Pastored First Baptist Church Delaware June 1,1960 to August 31, 1965.  He was called as Director of Missions for Rogers Baptist Association on September 1, 1965 and retired August 31, 1992.  He was pastor at First Baptist South Coffeyville 1994 to 1996.  Weldon became the Chaplin for Rogers County Sheriff’s Office Jan 2,1997 and later became a deputy sheriff serving under both Jerry Prather and Scott Walton.  Weldon was pastor at Alluwe Baptist Church for almost 18 years from 1999 to 2017.
He is survived by his wife, Grace of the home, Sons Charles, wife Kathy of Claremore and Jim, wife Lenora of Tulsa.
Grandchildren; Scott, Brad, Christy Dunfee, husband Will. Travis, Jim, wife Rhonda all of Claremore.  Vicki Leach, Glenna Davis of Tulsa.
Great Grandchildren; Cristina, Brianna, Alex, (husband Chris). Mckaine, (wife Lex), Grayson, Jagger, Lexi, Hope, (husband Grant), Blake, Derrik, Haydn, (wife Sara), Zane.
Great-Great Grandchildren; Allie, Everly, Nolan, Addison, Greyson, Avery, Destanie.
