A memorial service for Wesley Jerel Cook-Weaver, affectionately known as "Doodle," will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at The Claremore First Methodist Church.
Wesley passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 42.
Born on August 23, 1982, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wesley was the son of Rick and Nita "Snookie" (Bentley) Weaver. He was raised in Foyil, Oklahoma, and attended Foyil Schools, where he graduated as salutatorian of the Class of 2000. During his school years, he served as a football manager and demonstrated a passion for learning and leadership.
Wesley furthered his education at Rogers State University and earned his master’s degree in computer programming through Liberty College. He channeled his creativity and technical expertise into founding his own web design company, Doodle Designs.
From a young age, Wesley was surrounded by the excitement of dirt track racing, following his brother, Waylon, and racer Payton Pierce across the country. His dedication and talent earned him the role of crew chief, where he contributed to the success of numerous racers throughout the years.
In 2020, Wesley discovered his love for hunting, introduced to him by Steve Koyn. This passion led him to become a pro-staff member at Buck Ventures, a group featured on several television productions. The outdoors became a place of peace and purpose for Wesley, providing him with a platform to inspire others.
Despite living with cerebral palsy, Wesley never let it limit him. He famously proclaimed that his wheelchair was "a platform for God." He poured his heart into helping others, particularly youth, as he worked with Oklahoma Burn Camp and participated in a Georgia youth hunt. His compassion for others and determination to serve were defining aspects of his life.
In his final act of generosity, Wesley honored his lifelong commitment to helping others by becoming an organ donor, ensuring that even in death, his legacy of kindness and selflessness would endure.
Wesley was preceded in death by his father, Rick Cook; brother, Jesse Weaver; and grandparents, Jess and Lela Bentley and Grace and Lawrence Weaver.
He is survived by his loving mother, Snookie Weaver and Terry Henry; brother, Waylon Cook-Weaver, and wife T.J.; fiancée, Kari House; stepdaughter, Keria House; step-grandchildren, Malaki and Atticus; and nieces and nephews, McKaylon, McKenzie, Wyatt, Dallas, Jessica, and Seth. He is also survived by his uncle, Larry Bentley; and aunts, Tudy Mabe and husband Ronny, and Janice Rowe.
Wesley’s life was defined by his faith, courage, and love for others. He will be remembered as a man who inspired countless lives, showing the world that perseverance and kindness can overcome any obstacle. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
