Wesley Gene Ramsey

Funeral service for Wesley Gene "Runt" Ramsey will be 1 p.m., Mon., Dec. 15, at Eastern Hills Baptist Church with Pastor Pat Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Ward's Grove Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-5 p.m.

Wes passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 77.

The son of Wiley Mayes Ramsey and Sadie Virginia (Cottrell) Loyd was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Pryor. On June 27, 1956, Wes married Willa Mae Sallee in Foyil. They made their home in Foyil where they raised their children and were an active part of the community. He retired from Peabody Coal Company in June of 1991. Wes was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Missionary. He also served as a past Foyil School Board President.

Wes is survived by his children: Tim Ramsey and wife, Jenny of Alluwe, Gary Ramsey and wife, Cindy of Tulsa, Cindy Simerly of Monkey Island at Grand Lake, and Aaron Ramsey and wife, Cindy of Foyil; sisters: Etta Campbell of Claremore, Jenny Meeks of Claremore, and Judy Chronster and husband, Benny of Claremore; sisters-in-law: Wilma Loyd of Mannford, and Delberta Sallee of Claremore; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
