William Robert Miller

Graveside service for William Robert "Bob" Miller will be 11 a.m., Fri., Feb. 27, at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery with his son, Randall Millier officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion post 15 out of Muskogee. Burial will follow under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Bob passed away on Tues., Feb. 24, 2015, at the Claremore Veterans Center at the age of 89.

The son of John Francis and Nell Miller was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Ashland, KY. Bob grew up and attended school in Ashland. The family moved to Eagle, ID, in 1934. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during WWII; and served with the Army until enlisting with the U.S. Air Force in 1948. On Sept. 19, 1952, Bob married Annabel Lee Cargill . They made their home at Mt. Home AFB in Idaho. While serving in Korea Bob's family moved to Porter. On return Bob served at Cape Canaveral, FL. He retired in 1965 as a Master Sergeant. Bob made his home back in Porter where he worked for the Civil Service in Muskogee. In 1980 he moved to Boise, ID,, and in 1992, he moved to Foyil. Bob was a member of the Gold Wing Motorcyle Club. He also enjoyed working in his yard, and refurbishing cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: John and Frank Miller.

Bob is survived by his children: Bobby Joe Miller and wife, Linda of Owasso, Randall Lee Miller and wife, Debbie of Tahlequah, Donna Jean Mallory and husband, Larry of Foyil, and Tracey Ann Smith and husband, Tim of Ft. Gibson; brother, Don Miller and wife, Beverly of Washington; 14 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
