Dr. William D. Munson

Memorial service for Dr. William Dean Munson will be 11:00a.m., Monday, September 21, 2015 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Munson passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his home in Tulsa.
William Dean "Doc" Munson was born September 25, 1931 in Helena, Montana to Earl and Zola Belle (Miller) Munson. Following his schooling, William joined the US Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean War. After he was honorably discharged, William spent the next 6 years at Oklahoma State University, studying to become a veterinarian. He opened his clinic in Skiatook and was in private practice until 1975. After private practice he took a job working for the state and federal governments. He retired from that job in 1988. William was a cowboy and had a passion for horses! He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to the casinos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Zola.
Those family members that survive include his children Debra Kay Munson, Diana Sue Slaton and husband Claude, Donna Lynn Bruce, William R. Taylor, Micheal Dean Munson and wife Glenda, and Patricia Jo Munson; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
