Willie Lamont Carpenter

A Celebration of Life for Willie Carpenter will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 1:00pm at Faith Fellowship Church in Collinsville, OK. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023, from 1:00pm-6:00pm with family receiving visitors from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Willie passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, he was 68.

Willie Lamont Carpenter, 68, went to be with his brothers on June 12, 2023 in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Willie was born on September 22, 1954 to Bill Carpenter and Norma Washington in Tulsa, OK. Willie graduated from Collinsville High School in 1972. He was a proud Collinsville Cardinal and wore many jerseys including; football, baseball, and basketball. 
After graduating high school he attended Haskell Indian Nations University and Oklahoma State University. While attending college Willie participated in the Up With People program where he got to travel the world. While in college, Willie loved to play football and tennis.

In 1974, Willie met Lou at Haskell. Willie and Lou went on to have 2 children, Tisha and Ranny. His family loved to cheer him on as he competed in fast pitch softball and 3x3 basketball tournaments. 

Willie worked tirelessly to always provide for his family. He was a jack-of-all-trades and held many jobs over the years, such as landscaper, repairman, and machinist. He was most proud of his time working for the Town of Skiatook, becoming head of the Water Department. 

Willie was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brothers; Lewis Webster Carpenter and Perry Lee Carpenter. He is survived by wife Lou (Hawkins) Carpenter of Skiatook, OK, daughter Tisha Marie Carpenter-Troglin of Skiatook, OK, son Ranny Sundance Carpenter of Dallas, TX and grandsons Connor Thomas-Willie Troglin and Candon John-Cooper Troglin of Collinsville, OK.

Willie also leaves behind brothers Aaron D. Carpenter of Skiatook, OK, David L. Carpenter of Collinsville, OK, Eric A. Wensman of Sperry, OK, Kelly T. Wensman of Sperry, OK, Jason J. Quinton of Owasso, OK, sisters Terry Dawn Dudley of Skiatook, OK, Melissa Quinton of Sperry, OK, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
