Funeral service for Willie Still will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, July 6th 2017, at North Park Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1-8,pm. Family will greet friends from 6-8,,,,,,,pm.
Willie passed away on July 1st, 2017 at the age of 95.
The daughter of James Martin Haddock and Hazel Haddock-Padgett was born on October 4, 1921 in Chouteau, OK. The family moved to Claremore, where Willie would attend school and graduate. A short time later, she met Virgil Still and the two quickly realized that they were meant to be together. On February 4th, 1940, the couple married in Inola. They would make their home on the McFarland Ranch, where Virgil worked until he was deployed during WWII. Upon his return from service, the couple moved to Chicago. In 1955, Willie and Virgil moved back to Oklahoma, where Willie would work on the family farm, and for 20 years, as a cashier clerk for Safeway. After their retirement, Willie and Virgil greatly enjoyed travel, taking trips all over from Texas to Canada. In her spare time, Willie made quilts and porcelain dolls, and loved to fish.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Virgil, and five siblings.
Survivors include daughter Joan Lumm of Springfield MO, son James Still and wife Anita of Claremore; grandchildren Tony Richardson and wife Susan of Mannford, Lisa Lewis and husband Kerby of Broken Arrow, Susan Richardson of Norman, Troy Still and wife Kathy of Collinsville, Karen Wolf and husband Roger, and Sharron Grogan and husband Richard, all of Claremore; six step-grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren, and sister, Irene Parks.
