Funeral service for Wilma Maxine Embree will be 10:00a.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 at North Park Trinity Baptist Church, with Pastor Graydon Croyle officiating. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 22 from 1pm-6pm, family will greet friends from 4pm-6pm. Wilma passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019. She was 95.
The daughter of Chester Lee and Mamie Luella (Thornbrugh) Parret was born January 6, 1924, in Nowata County, Wilma graduated from Childers High School. On August 9, 1942, Wilma married Jack Kenneth Embree at the home of Jack's sister, in Nowata. Most of Wilma's working career was at Whitehill Oil Company, where she worked in the office. In October of 1994, Jack and Wilma moved from Drumright to Claremore. She was an active member of Business and Professional Women's Organization in Nowata, and her church, North Park Trinity Baptist, in Claremore. She enjoyed oil painting, making porcelain dolls and creative photo albums.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; brothers; Orval, Austin, Walter, Jack, and Claudie Parret; and sisters; Mable Thomas, Nora Parret, Ada Hagan, and Alma Nitz.
She is survived by her daughter, Kenna M. Koger; grandsons Winston Lowrey and wife Jill; and Doug Lowrey and wife Dena; and great-grandchildren; Sarah and Abby Lowrey, and Ethan, Evan, and Elliot Lowrey.
