Funeral service for Wilma Juanita Taylor will be 10 a.m., Wed., Dec. 31, at House of Prayer with Pastor Denton Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Wilma passed away Sun., Dec. 28, 2014, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 82.
The daughter of Daniel Otto and Hazel Belle (Harrington) Adams was born May 13, 1932, in Boggy Depot, OK. She grew up in the Boggy Depot and Atoka areas. On March 31, 1984, she married Willie Ray Taylor in Tulsa, and they made their home in Claremore. Wilma retired from the State of Oklahoma Vocational Rehabilitation Division where she was a secretary. Wilma was an active member of her church, House of Prayer. She taught Sunday school for many years, helped with fundraisers and events, and served as a Sunshine Girl sending special cards to families. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting, quilting, and going to garage sales. Her favorite thing to do was helping people.
Wilma was preceded in death by her children: Linda Dilldine and Jerry Dan Wilson; her parents; two brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Willie of the home; children: Dennis Wilson of Claremore, Jim Wilson and wife, Glenda of Chelsea, Cheryl Malek and husband, Merle of Verdigris, Peggy Ford and husband, Danny of Chelsea, and Danny Cruse of Claremore; step-children: Jane Ann Berry and husband, Jim of Sand Springs, and Glen Taylor of Dallas, TX; siblings: Allen Adams and wife, Jackie of Eureka, CA, and Mary Horath of Caddo; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
