Zella went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2013 at the age of 68.

The daughter of Wash “Zealer” and Maude Hudson Brewer was born May 2, 1945 in Waynesboro, Mississippi. Her family lived in the nearby town of Clara, where she spent her childhood. Her family was active in church. One summer she traveled with her uncle and cousins to the Bristow, OK Holiness Camp Meeting, where she met a young man named Robert Nelson. They began dating, and were married July 3, 1961. They made their home in Oklahoma. There she concentrated on raising her family. While her children were young she helped supplement the family income by selling things such as Avon, Sara Coventry, and Tupperware. Around 1975 they decided to purchase Chelsea Auto. A few years later she decided to get into the flower business. She purchased the Chelsea Flower Shop in the late 1980's. She operated it until her retirement in 2010. After her retirement she devoted most of her time to her family and friends; traveling back and forth between Chelsea and Mississippi. Her church was also important to her. She has been a founding member of the House of Prayer. There she participated in one of her favorite activities, which was singing gospel music.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wash Ezealer and Maude Brewer; mother and father-in-law; Ivon and Lewey Nelson, Jr. and brother, Cecil Brewer and his wife Betty Jane, brother-in-law Kenny Nelson, and sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Merlin Dunam.
